Mawson Lakes is a suburb of Adelaide, 14 km north of the Central Business District. The average maximum temperature in December is 26C, and average minimum is 16C. The average rainfall is 26 mm, with 3 rain days. Adelaide has over 20 km. of beaches within the city, with water temperature a mild 20C.

South Australia is a world-renowned producer of high-quality wines, with several different terroirs. Known as the Festival State, there is a wide variety of accommodation to suit all tastes. Movement around the city by public transport is quick and efficient. There are numerous venues for experiencing the magnificent flora and fauna – especially at the time of late spring, early summer.

 

Conference Dinner

The dinner will take place on Wednesday 4th December at the Fogolar Furlan Club, Adelaide https://www.fogolaradelaide.com.au/.

Travel will be by bus from Mawson Lakes and the night will start at 6pm for dinner at 6.30pm.  The scientific sessions will finish a bit earlier that day to allow people time to go earlier to explore or to play Bocce.

The dinner will include a 3-course italian-style meal with drinks (alcoholic or soft to suit).  This is a separate charge that you pay at the same time as completing your registration of 65 euros per person.

 

Excursions 

Post-conference excursions

Please note that in each of the following, there is moderate walking involved.  Please bring water, snack, sun hat, sunscreen and walking shoes.  Excursions are self-funded and delegates will be contacted with details of how to sign-up for the excursions closer to the start of the conference.


Friday December 6
This excursion will take place in the Cleland Wildlife Park and the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden in the Adelaide Hills.  This is limited to 20 people in a minibus and will leave from Adelaide CBD at 9 am.  There will also be lunch at the Uraidla Hotel.


Saturday December 7
This excursion will start at Christie Walk EcoVillage in Sturt St, Adelaide at 9 am.  Up to 20 people can meet there.  Then we will go by bus to Lochiel Park Green Village in Campbelltown.  From there we will go to the Felixstow Wetland and Reserve.  In the wetland, stormwater from the streets is treated in reed beds and then pumped into an aquifer for reuse when needed.  After that, we will walk to Casa Pica Pica in Felixstow for lunch.
