To leverage the power of the citizen data and to make the monitoring and implementation of the 2030 Agenda more inclusive, the “Copenhagen” Conceptual Framework on Citizen Data was developed by the Collaborative on Citizen Data, led by the UN Statistics Division and UN Women, with members from national statistical offices, civil society organisations, human rights institutions, academia, regional and international organisations.  The draft Framework, presented to the UN Statistical Commission at its 55th session in March 2024, was welcomed by national statistical offices and further work on the Framework piloting and implementation is underway.

The session will present the work around the refinement of the Copenhagen Framework on citizen data between March 2024 to January 2025, including lessons learnt and additional work undertaken to implement the Framework.  The session will also discuss how different data communities, including national statistical offices, academia and others can help support the Framework implementation.
