This session critically examines the impact of AI/ML, with a focus on generative AI, on the production and dissemination  of official statistics. As generative AI reshapes the data landscape, it will assess its potential and challenges in enhancing the statistical processes within the evolving data ecosystem. The session will explore, among others, the way National Statistical Offices (NSOs) can adapt their quality management, maintain user trust, and revisit their value proposition in this new context. Participants will discuss preparedness, skills, and collaboration among NSIs and other data ecosystem stakeholders. Insights from key NSOs will inform strategic discussions. This interactive session will feature short presentations followed by a participant discussion, seeking to fortify the strategic response for  integration of latest development of AI into official statistics.  This session is closely linked to the European Statistical System flagship initiative: the One-Stop-Shop on AI/ML.
