Statistics education plays a pivotal role in equipping individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of the modern world. However, in many developing countries, access to quality statistics education remains limited, hindering capacity building and evidence-based decision-making. This invited paper session seeks to explore innovative approaches, challenges, and opportunities in advancing sustainable statistics education in developing countries. This session will showcase diverse initiatives aimed at promoting statistical literacy, building capacity, and fostering inclusive learning environments. Topics addressed will include the integration of technology, open educational resources, experiential learning, community engagement, and capacity building for educators. Additionally, the session will examine the importance of incorporating local contexts, ensuring long-term institutional support, and evaluating the effectiveness of statistics education programs. By bringing together researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners, this session aims to stimulate dialogue, share best practices, and catalyze collaborative efforts to enhance statistics education and promote sustainable development in developing countries.
