The Short Courses Committee for the 65th ISI World Statistics Congress is inviting the members of ISI and its Associations to submit proposals for Short Courses.

The Committee, chaired by Peter van der Heijden will develop a Short Courses programme to serve the diverse needs of participants at the World Statistics Congress focusing on the needs of the participants in the local region and young statisticians.
The ISI views the Short Course programme as an important part of its statistical capacity building activities. The proposals received from members and other sources will be reviewed by the Short Courses Committee.

Here is some information about the Short Course Programme:

  • Courses should be 1 to 2 days in length and will be offered immediately before the World Statistics Congress 2025 on 3 and 4 October 2025.
  • Topics may be drawn from any area of statistics represented in the ISI and its Associations.
  • The fees for the courses will be determined by the ISI. They will be set at reasonably low levels to allow students and participants from lower-income countries to participate.
  • Up to two instructors will be reimbursed for local expenses (lodging and per diem at the UN rate) for the period that they are teaching the short courses. Travel expenses to the Netherlands will not be covered, as it is expected that the instructors are already planning to attend the WSC. While we do not provide any honorarium for teaching the course, each instructor will be offered a complimentary registration for the WSC.
