In order to access the congress venue, you can collect your ISI WSC 2023 delegate badge from the registration desk which opens at 10 am on Sunday 16th July 2023 in the Rideau Canal Atrium on the 2nd floor. Please make sure you bring your ISI WSC 2023 delegate badge with you for the duration of the congress in it’s entirety as entry will not be permitted without this.

The ISI WSC 2023 brings statisticians and data scientists from academia, official statistics, health sector and business, junior, and senior professionals together, in an inviting environment.

The inspiring and human interactive programme will enable you to learn about the latest developments in statistical research and practice in an informal ambience. A series of short courses, satellites and social events complete the WSC programme.

At this year’s Congress, in addition to a packed Scientific Programme, delegates have the opportunity to attend meetings, short courses, receptions and city walks in Ottawa.

Short Courses

The Short Courses will take place on 14th-15th July 2023 in Ottawa, Canada, just before the 64th ISI World Statistics Congress. The short courses are organised by the ISI with the support of the University of Ottawa, Canada.

The Short Course programme is developed to serve the diverse needs of participants in terms of capacity building. We have highly regarded Instructors who will offer a wide range of short courses on diverse statistical topics, which will help participants to develop the analytical and critical thinking needed to be adaptive and responsive to the dynamics of a rapidly changing world.

Take a Walk Through History - Join Our Ottawa City Walk

Receptions

ISI will be hosting one reception and a Gala Dinner at the ISI WSC 2023. Please find the details for these activities below:

Opening Ceremony (Canada Hall 1 & 2) and Welcome Reception (Parliament Foyer) | Sunday July 2023, 16:00 – 19:30 (open to all ISI WSC 2023 Registrants and Accompanying Persons)

The Opening Ceremony will be one to be remembered. It will be officially opened by the National Anthem of Canada, with a warm welcome from influential representatives. The ceremony will showcase Canadian culture and heritage, as well as an address from Stephen Penneck (ISI President) and Anil Arora (Chief Statistician of Canada).

Gala Dinner (Trillium Ballroom) | Thursday 20 July 2023, 19:00 - 22:00 (ticket(s) must be purchased through your WSC account)

The Gala Dinner is currently fully booked, you can add yourself to the waiting list through the registration site and you will be contacted should spaces become available. Delegates will be required to present their WSC 2023 attendance badge in order to access the Gala Dinner.

To help you plan your agenda before you arrive in Ottawa, please use the online programme which details all sessions and their location.

Delegates who have ordered a printed programme can collect their copy from the ISI WSC Registration desk in the Rideau Canal Atrium on the 2nd floor.

As well as the sessions taking place, you will also have the opportunity to meet and network with the ISI WSC 2023 Partners and Exhibitors. You can find the exhibition stands on level 3 in the Parliament Foyer.
