    Proposal Description

    I will Chair this session: Three wonderful colleagues have each agreed to make 30 minutes (25+5 minsQ&A) duration of full-length invited papers. (i) Prof. Dr. Amitava Mukherjee (from India) will speak on nonparametric semi-sequential tests for multivariate and high-dimensional data in Phase II trials, (ii) Prof. Dr. Ivair Silva (from Brazil) will speak on hot-spot monitoring heterogeneous relative health risks, and (iii) Prof. Dr. Yan Zhuang (from USA) will speak on statistical inference on the shape parameter of inverse generalized Weibull distribution with applications on bladder cancer data. Professor Zhuang is young and bright and recently she became a tenured Associate Professor. The other two colleagues are senior and very seasoned. All three are admired in our circuit as great scholars and speakers. The two senior colleagues are expected to mentor the young Prof. Dr. Zhuang helping her to go up the ladder. The diversity in this proposed session is obvious and their topics of research are important in today's big data science that we must celebrate for the ultimate good of the society we all live in.

    Notes:
    a) Prof. Mukherjee is an Elected Member of ISI (+its Committee on Risk Analysis), a Member of the ASA (+its Committee on International Relations in Statistics-CIRS), and Member of RSS (+ its committee on Quality Improvement);
    b) Prof. Zhuang is an Elected Member of the ISI, and Members of the ASA, the New England Statistical Society, and (iii) the ASA Detroit Chapter (Vice President).
