    Proposal Description

In many parts of the world, surveys are becoming increasingly challenging to conduct. In several regions, these challenges have been exacerbated by lasting impacts of the covid19 pandemic. At the same new technologies continue to provide new opportunities for survey design and implementation. This session aims to provide an overview of the challenges facing survey-taking and of responses to those challenges, including adapted practice and major programmes of methodological development, in some cases harnessing new technologies in innovative ways. Two presentations are from NSIs (Norway and Malaysia) while two are from multi-institutional methodological collaborations, one in the United Kingdom and the other a European Statistical System network (ESSnet).
