Governance and Trust Statistics matter!

Abstract
Governance in societies is an important determinant in people´s quality of life. This determinant is commonly affected by different factors, such as trust in institutions. For this reason, the measurement of governance, play a central role in the capacity, development and strengthening of societies and governments which implies several challenges and innovations in data production. This session will show innovations on trust data across different levels of government and public services around the world and examples from countries. This will also show the importance of producing statistical data about trust in public institutions to dimension its impact in democratic governance. Finally, the panel include a discussion about building trust in statistics, which is a major issue in our contemporary societies.
