Size Estimation and Impact Assessment in Biological Populations
Conference
Proposal Description
The session is concerned with the interaction between life and its surroundings in terms of quantity and quality. It covers estimation of the population size of fish in a marine environment, the link between rare environmental events and fish catch, and impact of human structures on terrestrial organisms using a BACI design. The session deals with important ecological issues where resource harvesting or technological advances are of central interest to society. The session illustrates that statistical methods play a central role.
