Abstract

Elaborating on the concept of subjective value, studied end described by the UNEC Task Force on Value of Official Statistics and endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians, my presentation will focus on a practical attempt to embed it into Statistics Poland operations.

I will present our understanding of “public good” in correlation to the subjective value derivatives which involve engagement with users, accessibility of statistics and data and deliberations whether the questions asked by the official statistics are really important.
I will give some concrete examples of subjective value-driven statistical products and services, as well as present how the idea was introduced into practice through education and knowledge sharing activities.
