Abstract
The Canadian Census of Population has made use of administrative data for several cycles to evaluate or improve the quality of census outputs. For the 2026 Census, Statistics Canada is looking at various ways in which an increase use of administrative data in its operations could lead to improvements in data quality. Some of this research could also lead to improvements in the sample design of social surveys. Proper linkage techniques are key to these operations. This presentation will describe the various initiatives, as well as the linkage operations that are central to them.
