Abstract
In 2001, the Swiss Federal Statistical Office and the University of Neuchâtel signed an agreement to promote research in the field of official statistics. The agreement provided for research on topics of interest to the Federal Statistical Office to be conducted at the university. For 24 years, this collaboration has been positive for both parties. On the one hand, the University of Neuchâtel has obtained additional resources to develop fundamental research, in particular through doctoral training. Secondly, the Federal Statistical Office has benefited directly from the spin-offs of this research. A large number of results have been published in scientific journals thanks to this collaboration. We will review the main results in the areas of sampling: sampling algorithms, sample coordination, variance estimation, calibration and the treatment of non-response.
