Abstract

Statistics Denmark offers a wide variety of micro data services to researchers, companies, ministries and other types of users. During the past years, we have developed a portal for requesting online access to analyses of microdata. This portal - The Danish Data Portal - offers access to approximately 4.500 users from 500 different institutions across Denmark. The available data ranges from social data over health data to education and income. Most of the data relate to individual citizens, but there is also a growing number of data on businesses. In my presentation, I will outline the Danish Data Portal and the secrurity measures, we have set up in order to provide a safe use of data for relevant purposes. I will also describe our efforts at offering access for students as well as our work to include new types of data, including unstructured data.
