Abstract
The technologies that underpin core statistical research and practice are always changing based on research developments and improvements in underlying computing resources. In recent times we have seen an increased need to teach technologies such as Python, version control, and databasing. As we speak there is a need for students to begin to understand cloud computing and how to use generative AI systems, such as ChatGPT, to support their statistical and coding practises. To ensure that our students get the most modern teaching experience we must change the contents of our programmes to reflect these updates. However, doing this is often not straightforward as those that teach within the programmes often lack the technological skillsets need to design and teach such content. In this talk, I will discuss how we can set ourselves up to integrate more technology in our future teaching by training the trainers, that is ensuring our current staff become more familiar with modern technology.
