Abstract
This study highlights the determinants of the managerial strategy of companies in Burkina Faso in the period of COVID 19 crisis based on the managerial grid of Blake and Mouton.
On a sample of 745 companies, the various statistical and econometric analyzes using the logit model confirmed the existence of significant explanatory factors on the management style, which are the company’s city of establishment, sector of activity and size in number of employees. Compared to companies in Ouagadougou, the capital of the country, companies in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second big city, had respectively less than 41% of practicing a productive management style. This rate is 52% for other countries. Compared to individual companies, SARLs companies had +52% for practicing productive management. Compared to commercial companies, industrial units had +61% and service companies had +67% for practicing productive companies. Also, there is a significant positive relationship between high staffing levels and productive style management. Gender or turnover had a mitigate influence on company strategy. Recommendations were made with a view to improve the managerial strategy of companies during times of crisis in Burkina Faso and the country response mode.
