Abstract
Collecting data on gender-based violence (GBV) is difficult due to its sensitive nature. In international conflict, the challenges are exacerbated by multiple factors: forced displacement renders typical sample frames obsolete, different cultural expectations require extra care during questionnaire design and interviewer training, and the nature of GBV changes in the context of war. This talk will discuss methods for ameliorating these challenges, using a study based in Ukraine to illustrate.
