Abstract
Providing training for females in STEM professions to equip them with requisite skills and competencies that enhance their career progression should be pursued assiduously as an antidote to the paucity of females in the top echelon of STEM fields. The required training should transcend what is required to perform by their job descriptions to prepare them for the proper use of data for policy formulation and implementation, as well as for occupying leadership positions at every stage of their career. Pursuant to achieving this, KNUST-LISA in collaboration with LISA2020 proposed a capacity development program with the overall objective to; build data analysis and interpretation capacity for policy decision-making and strategic planning, develop leadership capabilities and provide a mentoring platform for female scientists. The project description and some of the results of the collaboration will be presented during the session.
