Abstract
The SDG Geospatial Roadmap: global collaboration for national implementation
The integration of new data with traditional data can allow NSOs to produce high-quality information that is more detailed, timely, and relevant for multiple purposes and users, and especially for promoting and monitoring sustainable development. Indeed, the abundance of information has created new opportunities to measure sustainable development and its dynamics, and to identify and close information gaps, through a solid integration of statistical and geospatial information. This presentation shows different research projects and global strategies that leverage nontraditional data sources and techniques, with a particular focus on the SDG Geospatial Roadmap, endorsed by the UN Statistical Commission in 2022, and some examples of its application at the national level in Mexico.
