Abstract

The appearance of Covid-19 pandemic in the first quarter of 2020 had an impact on the production of official statistics and, at the same time, was the reason of an increased demand for data. This presentation will describe Statistics Poland experience in labour market surveys realisation during Covid-19 crisis – challenges met, solutions implemented and lessons learned. The first part of the presentation will analyse what risks Covid-19 brought both to data collection and data elaboration. Then it will be presented how Statistics Poland adjusted labour market surveys to new circumstances to enable timely dissemination of high quality data. The next part of the presentation will be devoted to new statistical products which were elaborated to meet growing user needs during the Covid-19 pandemic. The presentation will conclude with summary of what Statistics Poland have learned from this specific period and what solutions have stayed in use for longer.
