Abstract
Good data and statistics are crucial to support long-term directed changes called for by the SDGs and Agenda 2030. Each year, the Sustainable Development Report (which includes the SDG Index and Dashboards) evaluates the performance of all 193 UN member states on the 17 SDGs to help identify policy priorities and persisting data gaps. It tracks both distances to pre-defined performance thresholds (at one point in time) but also evaluates whether countries are on-track or off-track (based on past year’s growth rates extrapolated to 2030). In this presentation we will share insights from the latest SDR23 published in June 2023, and also lessons learned after 8 editions of the SDR and priorities at mid-point into the SDGs.
