Abstract
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries in the developing world faced an abrupt upheaval in their face-to-face data collection efforts and increasingly turned to high-frequency phone surveys to fulfill their urgent data needs. This talk will recall the challenges faced in countries supported by the World Bank in this transition from CAPI to CATI surveys for data collection. It will also highlight the new opportunities for future data collection efforts as a result of enhanced phone survey experience and capacity among NSIs following the pandemic.
