Abstract

For organizations with limited resources and those whose do not produce data, the DDI Codebook provides a simple yet powerful and effective solution facilitated by the availability of DDI compliant open source software applications. The World Bank, several international organizations, and statistical agencies in low- and middle-income countries have made extensive use of the DDI Codebook, and contribute to its further development. The World Bank will present its use of the DDI Codebook, for internal use and in its technical assistance program, and the development of DDI-based tools for improved data discoverability and accessibility.
