Abstract

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) uses and develops AI methods, both for regular production and additional research. In addition, other Dutch government bodies increasingly consult CBS on applying algorithms and data in a fair and responsible way. It is, however, not always clear which questions are within scope of the legal mandate of CBS. The contribution presents the general CBS policy on supporting responsible AI applications, as well as examples to indicate its practical implications.
